Ancienne Maison Forestière de Buchwald
Exceptional forest estate – Vosges du Nord Regional Nature Park
Welcome to Buchwald
Stay in an old forest house dating from 1875
This charming property, which predates the French Revolution, is set in the privileged environment of the Vosges du Nord Regional Nature Park, a Unesco-listed biosphere reserve.
Here, nature reigns supreme. Stealthy lynx, roe deer crossing at dawn, curious foxes, nocturnal badgers... you're not quite at home here. And it's precisely this humility in the face of nature that makes your stay here so special...
An exceptional forest estate in Alsace
Nestled in a one-hectare wooded clearing at the foot of the Grand Wintersberg
At the foot of the Grand Wintersberg, the highest point in the Vosges du Nord massif, the former Buchwald forest house, named after the beech forest that surrounds it, stands at the crossroads of countless hiking trails, including the historic and pioneering GR53, which runs alongside it.
As soon as you cross the threshold, the exceptional volumes of this large 650 m2 residence envelop you in an atmosphere that is both majestic and soothing. The entrance hall, with its cathedral ceiling, houses a period Kachelofe. It leads to a rustic kitchen, as well as the first reception area, comprising a small lounge and a dining room, all adorned with a stone fireplace, wood panelling and beams reminiscent of the famous Alsatian -Stub-.
